AHEAD OF TIME

 Gordon head  Designed for public bathing – were used until the end of Roman rule in Britain in the 5th century AD

Aquae Sulis  A centre of worship used by Celts. The thermal waters contain sodium, calcium, chloride and sulphate ions in high concentrations

Hot spring  The water is sourced from rainfall on the nearby Mendip Hills

Warm and cold  The baths have been modified on several occasions
